Mississippi State Bulldogs v. Vanderbilt Commodores First Half Recap

So after the first half, we still have a pretty close game. The Bulldogs and Commodores seem to be pretty evenly matched, but the Bulldogs have had the edge on offense so far.

Although it seems like a close game, one look at the stats and you can see that Mississippi State leads in just about every category. Aside from a few miscues on offense, like Tyson Lee's example of how to NOT run the option, the Bulldogs have performed well. The defense has definitely had a better night, including holding Vandy to a field goal inside the 5.

What we need now is to convert on those crucial 3rd downs.

One highlight to make note of is that Anthony Dixon is now 3rd in career rushing yards at State, pasing Michael Davis with 2731. He only needs 66 more yards to become 2nd and pass Walter Packer. He could eclipse 2820 yards in this game as well.
