UPDATE 11/02/10: Teammate Jonathan Banks tweeted this morning that Nick Bell has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bell family, his teammates and the entire MSU family,
News broke this evening that Nick Bell underwent emergency surgery this morning at UAB hospital after it was discovered that his cancer has spread.
For those familiar with the story, Bell began complaining of headaches back in September and it was later discovered that he had a mass on his brain. Bell had surgery on October 1st to remove the mass. The day after his surgery Mississippi State defeated Alcorn State and gave the game ball to Nick.
Coach Dan Mullen visited with Nick this afternoon and later stated that 50 MSU players were expected to visit with Bell later during the night.
Nick started in two SEC home games this season against Auburn and Georgia.
