Manny Diaz Talks Defense

Bully Barkline has a solid interview online with Manny Diaz. Skip to about the 5:00 mark to jump past the commercials.

Some highlights:

  • Diaz breaks down his impressions of the State D from the prior 2 years, especially comparing the 08 and 09 versions
  • Discusses the originations of his aggressive style of defense
  • Judging from the audio, Diaz as a similar personality to Mullen - very fast talking and direct
  • Also gives props to Chris Wilson and how easy it has been to work with him
All in all, I like what I hear from Diaz and I think he is a great hire. It is obvious why he seemed to be the #1 choice among fans to replace Torbush.
