In what was an expected move this evening, the Penn State Board of Trustees removed longtime football coach Joe Paterno effective immediately. Paterno, as most know by now, has been intertwined in the growing story of how Penn State athletic officials within the football program covered up the abuse of children by Jerry Sandusky. Surreal scene at the BoT presser tonight. Needed to be done though. Kudos to BOT for seeing that and acting.
