Croom Picks Tennessee, We Didn't Want Him Anyway

+

"You know how they say ‘when you visit the right school, you will just know it?’ That’s how it was at Tennessee," Croom told the AJC. "They think I can develop into a special player for them. They really care about my academics and helping me get a degree. I really like the coaches, the players, the atmosphere — you know, everything about the place." Well, great. As expected, Jason Croom, a wide receiver out of Norcross, Ga., picked Tennessee over Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are still searching for a big target, so perhaps the coaching staff is about to turn up the heat on Pearl (High), Miss., receiver D.J. Thompson. Last season, Thompson, who checks in at 6-4 and 195-pounds, had 45 catches for 809 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Pirates. Southern Miss currently leads in the recruitment of Thompson. Glutton for punishment? Click the headline and read the AJC’s story of Croom’s decision.
