Earlier this evening OUR point guard Dee Bost tweeted out requesting MSU Athletic Officials to put together a "Midnight Madness" event due to the high expectations going into the season. Famous locals such as Strangebrew Coffeehouse, Whit Waide among others joined in asking MSU AD Scott Stricklin to consider such an event.
Now often times athletic directors and people in management positions in athletic programs tend to avoid replying to requests, criticisms, and other direct communications. Isn't it cool to have an AD who is just another person like you and I? About an hour after Whit Waide submitted the above request to Stricklin on behalf of he, Dee Bost (and the rest of us), our AD had this to say:
Maroon Madness??? Sounds like something I could get behind. It's hard to take this is a 100% promise that such a "Midnight Madness" type event is on the way, but it is an exciting glimpse at what MAY be to come. And as a side note, kudos to Stricklin for going against the grain and being an AD that is "among the people."
Also, I request that this "potential" event feature a Slam Dunk contest between the Gold Team. I'd love to be the celebrity guest dunker to join them, if they're willing to let me use a trampoline in aiding my dunks.
