Dogs open as nearly a 3 touchdown favorite over upset minded Middle Tennessee State
Mississippi State opens tonight as a 19 point favorite over the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders in this weekend's Homecoming game at Davis Wade, according to betting site BetOnline. The Bulldogs will look to move to 7-0 in what is a potential trap game between last weekend's Tennessee game and a trip to Tuscaloosa to tangle with Alabama on October 27th.
The line has already moved to 19.5, and could possibly move up closer to 21 as the week goes on.
My prediction: State will have a sense of overlook this weekend, but should cover the spread, winning by 3 touchdowns.

[UPDATE / 10.16.2012, 11:30 a.m.] - Since opening at 19, the line moved to 20 on Monday after the news that star RB Benny Cunningham is out for the season, but has since, as of this update, moved back down to 19.5. It appears betters are expecting Mississippi State to possibly overlook the Blue Raiders a bit, causing a closer ballgame.
