After losing late to Memphis on Wednesday, the Diamond Dawgs won late on Friday. State beat Conneticut 5-4 after being down 4-0.
Ben Bracewell started the game for MSU and went three scoreless innings before he left with soreness after 42 pitches. The Bulldogs got a run on the board in the 7th, and then made it 4-3 on a Trey Porter 2-run homer in the 8th. In the 9th, a single, error by UConn on a sacrifice bunt and another error on a grounder to 3rd led to the tying and winning run for State.
MSU improved to 7-2 on the year.
