Rick Stansbury retired on March 15th. After that, a list of coaches a mile long have come and gone. Round and round Stricklin goes, where he'll stop - no body knows.
First up: Shaka Smart. That didn't last long.
Gregg Marshall? Chris Collins? Sean Woods? Not much heard about those early favorites.
On March 19th, it was reported that Oral Roberts head coach was interviewed in Atlanta. That proved not to be the case.
The first part of March 20th: Frank Martin's name appeared to be a possibility. The second part of March 20th: Steve Prohm became the leader after reports surfaced of the Murray State A.D. being upset with Mississippi State's contact with his coach.
After some Prohm puns, Kenny Payne appeared to be a strong possibility on March 22nd.
Then, a quiet weekend. John Groce's name got hot among the fan base, maybe a few rumblings of Joe Dooley.
March 26th: Frank Martin takes the job at South Carolina. Steve Prohm signed an extension with Murray State. That night, for a 20 minute stretch, it appeared that Rob Jeter had the job.
March 28th: Bryce Drew all day long. From State interviewing him to hiring him to him taking his name out of the running.
