INSTANT RECAP | MSU Beats Kentucky, Will Play in SEC Championship Sunday

Stay connected for news and updates

The miracle streak continues.

Mississippi State (38-22) is now one win away from their first SEC Baseball Tournament Championship since 2005 after defeating a well-rested Kentucky, 2-1 Saturday. MSU's Nick Routt (3-5) gets the win for the Dawgs but he also got some much needed help from Luis Polloreno, Ben Bracewell, and "THE TRUTH" Johnathan Holder (thanks to @bradlocke) on the mound.

Again, MSU's bats were not on fire for much of the contest but their infield defense could've been the key to securing State's win. Sam Frost and Adam Frazier (who continued his 11-game hitting streak and is three hits away from a record number of hits in an SEC Tournament) provided amazing field work for the Bulldogs.

State will now face the winner of Vandy-Florida Sunday at 3:30 in Hoover, AL for the entire SEC enchilada.

Win or lose tomorrow, does this give MSU baseball enough credit to host a coveted Regional site in Starkville next weekend? And bigger question: who in the world will pitch for MSU tomorrow?

Only time will tell.

Until then...
