Dawgs Picking Up Commits Left and Right

Stay connected for news and updates

After seemingly being dead in the water for months, the 2013 recruiting class has been given new life in the last week. Some Mississippi State fans were starting to get anxious as Ole Miss' class creeped into the top 25 (although we are still eight months from signing day). But starting on June 7th, the onslaught began: B.J. Hammond, Deon Mix and Kent Flowers, and now Cord Sandberg and Chris Jones. That makes seven commits in this class compared to two this time last week.

The guys State picked up yesterday:

1. Cord Sandberg - 6'-3", 211 lb left-handed quarterback from Bradenton, FL

Cord Sandberg Manatee high school (via HurricaneGradDad)

2. Chris Jones - 6'-6", 270 lb defensive end from Houston, MS.

I don't have a video but I hear this guy is a beast. He's unrated, but this is just a typical Mullen find on a guy no one else is on. Jones says he's always wanted to go to Mississippi State.
.

I'm no recruiting expert, but there could be more commits in the coming days. Don't expect a full class in 2013, maybe 18-21 signees come February.
