Perk Separating Himself as #1 Tailback

LaDarius Perkins seems to have a clear hold on the top running back spot in State's backfield. He's the oldest and most experienced, and it appears as though he ready to take charge. Dan Mullen stated yesterday that Perkins can be an every-down back. He is "stout" at 190 lbs. Mullen also said some of the younger guys didn't come off the two-day break (Sunday and Monday) as mentally prepared as he'd have liked. It appears as though, going into the Jackson State game, LaDarius Perkins is slated for most of the carries.
