2 Years ago I watched the Bulldogs travel to Auburn in a game I probably wont forget. When people ask me about that game I don't just talk about the goal line stand. I talk about how just a few plays ago that Vick Ballard had crossed the goal line with the ball in his hand which I think should have been a touchdown. The refs wouldn't review it and this was not the only call they messed up that day. That was one of many costly calls. Why do i bring this up? I felt like i saw the same Auburn game this year but in reverse. People blame the defense for that game. Just remember that we forced 3 turnovers in that game and we shut down the Gus Bus for the majority of the game. And by the way the receiver illegally touched the ball when he caught the TD. The refs said we pushed him out but it was obvious we didn't. So if you blame the defense for that game you don't know MSU. I think that the offense looked great with Dak the guy i thought should have started last year. You see him get better each week and making better decisions. He is everything I hoped for and more. It's not that I hate Tyler but his decision making NEEDS to improve. I understand it is easier said than done but don't go for the long ball every time. But I don't know if we could have really done much more in the Auburn game. This Auburn team is extremely underrated and is better than most MSU fans think. Just hope that Dak gets a GREAT amount of playing time even if Tyler starts against LSU. I can's say I am shocked that the offense blew out Troy(maybe more points than I expected). I am really shocked that the defense held Troy to 7 points. I saw the Tennessee Troy game last year and Troy seemed to have a great offense. For our defense to shut down their QB shows we are better on defense.
Now lets preview next week against one of the best teams in the SEC LSU. This team will be coming off the Georgia game and will most likely be more focused on Florida. We are coming off a bye so this could be the best chance to upset LSU we have had in a long time. In 20 years we have only defeated LSU once. Now the big question is how good of a shot do we Really have. LSU has weaknesses that we can exploit with Dak so I think we can score on them. Can we defend them? Hard to say. I think LSU will score points but if we can force some turnovers I think it will be easier. We aren't that far behind LSU. I dont think we are far of but losing to a quality team like this doesn't look bad. I am just ready for the big upset. We haven't had one in a long time and this would be pretty sweet as it would be easier to get to a bowl game.
The Black bears are overrated. As a person who really is tired of Alabama and hates TSUN I think either way would satisfy me. But realistically Ole Miss's defense is very questionable. And TSUN doesn't have Johnny Manziel they have a QB that throws plenty of pics even if he can run the ball great. TSUN has only won once in Tuscaloosa so I don't think they will start now with the 2 time defending nc. But realistically only MSU and LSU can beat Bama if TSUN can't. State fans do have a tough choice. Choose between a team I hate or the team that rubs it into your face about how dominant they are. Either way it's a win lose for me either way. (The result of this game shouldn't affect State in either way so who cares). By the way Ole Miss winning is a greater possibility than you may think or in my case hope.
Sure we can still make the SEC Championship game but it is not realistic. Here is a tough 3 game stretch: at South Carolina, at Texas A&M, Alabama. We can easily g 0-3 there. Going 1-2 there would be exciting though. I think we could match up with South Carolina and Alabama and have a pretty good chance. And Texas A&M... just wait until next year when Johnny leaves is all I will say about that one. I think we will beat Arkansas, Kentucky, and Bowling Green without any problem. The question is can we get a win from LSU, South Carolina, Texas A&M, or Alabama. I don't want to wait until the Egg Bowl because that will be us against a motivated TSUN team. They are not better than us but they can play better than us and that is what happened in the 2012 edition.
Just remember not to focus on how dominate that you beat a team that you just defeat them. Just know that we are close to being able to defeat better competition and not even have to worry about losing to TSUN(They think LSU is their rival for crying out loud). Just a random note as far as scheduling goes I am for whatever format let's us continue to play Kentucky every year for multiple reasons. 1. usually both teams are playing for a bowl. 2. Maybe it will let Kentucky consider us a rival in basketball(prob not). 3. This is a fun game to watch for me.
