Mississippi State coach Rick Ray may wrap up his first recruiting class with a point guard this weekend. Olney Central (Ill.) Community College freshman Trivante Bloodman is scheduled to visit campus Thursday afternoon and will likely sign with MSU during his visit.

Good Bear = Smokey, Bad Bear = Ole Miss. Smokey the Bear threw out the 1st pitch, and the Dawgs won Game 1, 4-0, behind yet another solid performance by Chris Stratton. This one rivaled his 17 strikeout performance against LSU. Last night, a complete game shutout, facing only four more than the minimum. State has now won 5 games in a row. Over the course of those five games (52 innings), the Dawgs pitching staff has only given up four runs. That pretty darn good. TSUN and MSU are now tied at 9-10 in the SEC, in a 3-way tie with Arkansas for 2nd in the West. Game 2 is today at 2:00. It's on Sports South again if you're like me and can't make it out to the game.
