Sure, you've seen impressive rally cap performances before, but have you even seen one as good as this? Good enough to pull MSU out with a win in a 17-inning all-night affair? I didn't think so (via @CindyGladney)
@starkvilledaily @stricklinmsu South Carolina outfielders enjoyed some grilled chicken with us in the 8th inning twitter.com/jrr312/status/…

Shoot, can you blame them? You play 9 innings that close to amazing grilling smells, you're gonna want some yourself eventually. Hope that helps ease the sting of the loss boys.
Dudy Noble Field has now seen 5,000,000 fans enter the gates since the school began taking attendance in 1976. That's a pretty big milestone, so the school will commemorate it by giving out the above lapel pin to the first 5,000 who enter tomorrow night's game. That is pretty sweet. (via @RhettHobart)
Phil Turner was one of the scrappiest players in his time at Mississippi State, a time that was cut short due to miscommunications with the coaching staff. Turner finished his career at Delta State in Cleveland, but he did come back to get his degree in maroon and white. (via sixpackspeak)

In the day's least shocking news, MSU DC Geoff Collins is enjoying an AMP energy drink before today's football practice. WE CAN ONLY HOPE HE WRITES ABOUT 200 NEW LETTERS TONIGHT WHILE HOPPED UP ON SOME AMP GOODNESS WOOOOO.
Coach Dan Mullen and the rest of the MSU head coaches may be on a rampant tour of the state of Mississippi this week, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have time to stop and take in a photo op with [flys out of corner] [folding chair to the back of his head] OH YEAHHHHHHH (via @JoeState)
Everyone knows that recruiting 8th graders is a thing of the past. IN UTERO recruiting is where it's at now, and Dan Mullen is pioneering the efforts. You see coach Mullen signing a sonogram, I see the recruitment beginning for Scottfield Jenkins, class of 2031 Quarterback (via)
Just for fun, not real (OR IS IT?!)
One State fan on fancred caught up with coach Mullen on the Road Dawgs tour, and Mullen told him that he and Meyer had caught a Buffett concert together recently. There's really nothing groundbreaking here, just the fact that I would have been interested to see those two together at the concert, hopefully singing "cheeseburger in paradise" at the top of their lungs.
