State again fell in both the AP and Coaches' Polls this week after Saturday's 38-13 home loss to Texas A&M, which pushed the Bulldogs to 7-2 on the season.

Mississippi State again took a bit of a tumble in the polls, following our second straight loss on the 2012 campaign. The Bulldogs fell to 22nd (AP) and 23rd (Coaches') in the latest edition of each poll, released this morning.

State was able to hang in both polls, despite the poor showing at home against a tough A&M Aggies squad, led by Johnny Manziel.

The Dogs will look to get the season back on track this upcoming weekend but it will take a great effort, as State prepares to take on the Tigers of LSU in Baton Rouge.

Here's this week's Top 5 for each poll:

AP

  1. Alabama
  2. Oregon
  3. Kansas State
  4. Notre Dame
  5. Ohio State, Georgia (tied)

Coaches'

  1. Alabama
  2. Oregon
  3. Kansas State
  4. Notre Dame
  5. Georgia
