Over a month ago, this game looked as though it could be a top-three matchup in what would've the Egg Bowl of the century. While things aren't quite on that level anymore as we pass Thanksgiving and head towards December, there is still quite a bit on the line as Mississippi State and Ole Miss meet today in Oxford.
For State, a chance to cling tightly onto the final playoff spot relies solely on winning a final road test. For Ole Miss, today is all about spoiling things for their rivals while positioning themselves better for a bowl game. It's cliche' as hell, but you can always throw the records out the window when rivals square off against each other.
Today is a new day; will it be one that goes to the Dogs? We here at For Whom the Cowbell Tolls dang sure hope so.
