Several weeks ago, Mississippi State felt good about its chances with Hargrave Military Academy offensive lineman Sunny Odogwu.
Now, after Odogwu visited Al Golden and the Miami Hurricanes on December 14th, it appears he has decided to go another way.
Inside The U reports that Sunny Odogwu has committed to the Miami Hurricanes ($). The 6'8" 307 lb 3* prospect chose the 'Canes over offers from Mississippi State, and Texas Tech, among others.
Odogwu would have certainly been a nice addition to this class, but is not a huge loss for the Bulldog class of 2013. With offensive linemen Deon Mix, Kent Flowers, and Jake Thomas already aboard, and with four of five starters most likely set to return in 2013, Odogwu committing to Miami over State does not cripple the Bulldogs recruiting class. Bulldawgs 247's Paul Jones says ($) that MSU may now look harder towards South Florida commit Cameron Fraser, or may decide to take that spot and and move it from OL-specific to a "best-available"-type category. Fraser does not currently have an offer from the Bulldogs.
