Scott Austin officially leaves MSU class, commits to Louisiana Lafayette

Stay connected for news and updates

MSU fans had heard talk of the possibility for some time now, but last night, it appears that it finally took place. After supposedly being asked to greyshirt in early January by the MSU coaching staff, former MSU commit and Biloxi native wide receiver Scott Austin has decommitted from the Bulldogs, and committed to Mark Hudspeth's UL-Lafeyette squad.

Again, MSU fans that follow recruiting have heard that Austin was asked to greyshirt since early January. After the coaching staff asked that of him, he began to look around, and in that time took official visits to UL-L and South Alabama. It looks like Scott liked what he saw in Lafayette, as he will become a member of their 2013 signing class.

I hate that that happened to Austin, but so is the nature of recruiting sometimes. Best of luck to him playing for Hudspeth down in Bayou country.
