After yet another difficult defeat in the midst the toughest stretch of games of the season, Mississippi State has dropped out of both the AP and Coaches' Top 25 polls this week. This is the first week the Bulldogs will be absent from the top 25 since they entered it in week 4 of the season.

State fell to three spots outside of the AP Top 25, while the Dogs fell to five spots outside of the Coaches' Top 25 this week. Being that close means that there is a chance that State will re-enter the poll before the end of the regular season, should they win out.

State's upcoming opponent, Arkansas, took a 38-20 loss to South Carolina in Columbia Saturday, and will come into the game with a 4-6 record overall, and 2-4 in the SEC. The Dogs opened as a 7 point favorite over the Hogs.
