A good day to be a State fan just turned into a great one, as Paul Jones with 24/7 sports tells us that Columbus (MS) High School Offensive Lineman Jake Thomas has committed to Mississippi State ($).
Thomas becomes the 19th commitment in the class for MSU, and the 4th Offensive Lineman in this class, joining Deon Mix, Kent Flowers, and Jamaal Clayborn.
Jake (**** 24/7, **** Scout, *** Rivals) was receiving heavy interest from schools like Stanford and North Carolina, and also held offers from the other two major football programs in the state: Ole Miss and Southern Miss.
According to the Clarion Ledger's Rod Walker, Thomas gives MSU 6 Dandy Dozen commitments, with Ole Miss possessing 3 and 3 players still uncommitted. The 3 uncommitted players: Antonio Conner, Ashton Shumpert and Montreal Jordan, all have a chance to come to State, which if it happened, would give MSU 9 out of the 12 in the CL's Dandy Dozen. Unreal, but still, a long, loooooong way to go until signing day.
You can read more about Jake in Steve Robertson's story on him.
