Mississippi State (1-2) has opened as a 14.5 point favorite over the Troy Trojans (2-1) for next weekend's non-conference tilt at Davis Wade Stadium, according tot he betting website BetOnline.com.
Honestly, this line is a tricky one. On one hand, I'd take this in a heartbeat, because MSU is likely to come out pissed off and fired up, looking to rack up some points and release some frustration after a heartbreaking loss last night. On the other hand, the Trojans played MSU quite well last year. Corey Robinson, the gunslinging QB for Troy who ripped MSU last year, is back this season, and already has nearly 1,000 yards passing three games into the season. I think the defense is much improved from last year, but make no mistake, if State comes out flat, Robinson and Troy will do their best to make use of the opportunity.
I guess now we wait to see how Mullen will go forward at the QB position, as well as how this team responds following yet another tough, tough loss at the hands of Auburn.
