MSU making a big push for a west coast DL
With just under a month left until National Signing Day, Mississippi State today started its push for a big time prospect from the state of Washington. Bellevue DL Marcus Griffin received his offer from MSU ($) today, and the offer looks like it will be enough to get Griffin to visit campus for an official before signing day. Griffin (6'3", 300lb) recently decommitted from Washington State.

Marlon Humphrey sets official visits for January
There's been no hiding the fact that Mississippi State has long been after the services of Hoover, AL 5* CB Marlon Humphrey. Humphrey, who you may remember as the recipient of Coach Collins' recruiting letters last summer, has kept MSU in the discussion, even though he's anticipated to be leaning towards Alabama.
Just this week, it appeared that Marlon's January would get even more hectic, as he was invited to participate in a track meet overseas, but per his dad, the trip has been cancelled. With that, Humphrey has decided to take official visits to Alabama on January 24, MSU on January 26-28, and UCLA on January 31. Humphrey named Alabama and Florida State his leaders recently at the Under Armor All American Game.

2015 MSU commit gets a big offer
While MSU's 2014 recruiting class is shaping up to be workman-like but not flashy, 2015's has already gotten off to a strong start, as the Bulldogs have commitments from Five-4* players. One of those, Bruce WR Jay Johnson, has been committed to the Bulldogs for about a month now after receiving his official offer earlier this fall, but recently, another in-state offer came in that is sure to make Johnson's recruitment an interesting one from now until February 2015.

Johnson is rated as the 12th overall player in the state of Mississippi by 247 Composite for what looks to be a deep 2015 class.
