Mississippi State WR Shelby Christy tears ACL, out for season

The redshirt freshman from Geismar, Louisiana will now have to wait another full season before seeing the field in maroon and white.

We're just a few days into the start of fall camp and Mississippi State is now down one wide receiver for the 2014 season.  Shelby Christy, a redshirt freshman wideout from Geismar, Louisiana tore his ACL in practice and is out for the season, Dan Mullen told the media Friday afternoon.

Christy, a former 3-star prospect who chose the Bulldogs over Nebraska and others, will now have to apply for a medical redshirt waiver at the end of his eligibility to hopefully regain this season.  He was not listed on the original two-deep depth chart that MSU released with the media guide several weeks ago.
