This morning, former Mississippi State pitcher Chris Stratton was called up by the San Francisco Giants. Stratton will be leaving the AAA ranks, at least momentarily, to join the Giants just in time for their trip out to Denver to take on the Rockies.

Right now, the Giants are 30-20 and in possession of the lead in the National League West, 4.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers and 5.5 games ahead of the Rockies, whom the Giants will play this weekend. The Giants will then take on the Braves and the Cardinals in the coming week.
FYI, San Fran opens 4-game series at Atlanta on Monday, then weekend series at St. Louis. Interesting time for @cstratton28 to arrive.

In case you didn't remember, Stratton was the 2012 SEC pitcher of the year for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and he had a pretty good career, compiling a 21-12 record over his three years in Starkville and striking out a total of 277 in that time. In Stratton's senior season, he had an ERA of 2.38 and appeared in 17 games, starting in 12.
