First it was Dak Prescott. Now it’s Malcolm Johnson. And it looks like there’s going to be more billboards on the way.

Mississippi State’s athletic department intends to honor and recognize former football players from Mississippi State that have made it to the NFL. At first I, and several others, thought it would only be for Dak Prescott because of his legacy at Mississippi State and the fact that he was starting for the Cowboys. But this marketing campaign continues to be a brilliant way for the university to share its brand across the nation.
Here’s the list of locations for the billboards in Cleveland featuring Johnson:
Ontario Street (South bound)
Carnegie Avenue (East bound)
Carnegie Avenue (West bound)
Lorain Avenue (West bound)
West Third Street (North bound)
East 14th Street (North bound)
Malcolm Johnson was arguably the best tight end to play for Dan Mullen at Mississippi State, despite being smaller than the traditional tight end at 6’1” and 230 pounds. But he’s made his way to the NFL and is playing fullback for the Cleveland Browns.
