Missouri had a four point halftime lead, but a big Mississippi State 2nd half gave the Bulldogs an easy win. MSU lead by as much as 20 points in the game before ultimately winning against Missouri 89-74.
Lamar Peters and Quinndary Weatherspoon stole the show. Weatherspoon shot a career high 29 points. But ultimately Peters got the crowd to its feet by shooting 5 straight 3 pointers that gave the Bulldogs the momentum.
The Tigers now fall to 5-14 and 0-7 in the conference, while the Bulldogs improve to 13-6 and 4-3 in conference play. Missouri will host South Carolina, while Mississippi State will travel to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama. The rest of the SEC will take part in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge.
Mississippi State will be looking to avenge an early season loss against Alabama. The Bulldogs went on a 3 game winning streak following the loss to Alabama and looked like a completely different team. Although that team reappeared in Knoxville TN last Saturday. If MSU plays like they have in their 4 SEC Wins and Kentucky loss, then Mississippi State should win. However the question now is MSU going to take a step forward, or are they going to revert back to the performance against Tennessee?
