POLL: How many Wins can the Men’s Basketball Team get in SEC Play?

What can we expect out of the Mississippi State Bulldogs Men’s Basketball team when SEC play starts this evening against Alabama? I’m not sure there is a good way to answer that question.

The Bulldogs roster has been well chronicled throughout the first half of the season. There is a lot of talent on the team, but the talent is young, and it isn’t the same type of talent on the roster of Kentucky. This team had a learning curve, and it was on full display throughout the months of November and December.

When the Bulldogs are hitting their shots and playing well, they are going to be as tough to beat as anyone in the conference outside of Kentucky. When the shots aren’t falling, they will struggle. It’s a s simple as that.

The SEC continues to struggle outside of Kentucky. Only two teams are currently ranked in the AP poll. The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked 6th in the country with an 11-2 record, and the Florida Gators are 24th with a 10-3 record. No other team received votes in the latest AP poll.

The SEC is littered with teams with three, four, or even more losses. Many of the teams in the conference have a bad loss or two on their resume. The Bulldogs can win some games, but they will have to be more consistent than they were the first two months of the season.
