Both Mississippi State Men’s and Women’s basketball teams have managed to stay undefeated at home this season. Women’s hoops are undefeated at home and on the road, whereas the men suffered their first loss this past Tuesday night at #25 Cincinnati.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate on Sunday afternoon when the faced off against the Maine Black Bears. There was no competition on the court for the Lady Bulldogs as they won 83-43 in dominating fashion. Teaira McCowan led the Lady Bulldogs once again with 18 points and 11 rebounds. This team has girls who are always finding their way to the rim and putting points on the board. They continue the action on Wednesday night at 4:30 against a 5-4 UNLV squad. This will be the Lady Bulldogs first true road game.
The Men’s team bounced back this past Saturday night against UT-Martin. Leading the Bulldogs with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Aric Holman led the team to a 92-61 victory over the Skyhawks. This team seems to play better at home, granted their competition at home has been sub-par. They continue their action on Wednesday night against a 2-9 Little Rock squad. That game will be played at the Humphrey Coliseum at 7:00 PM.
Both Mississippi State squads have been a pleasure to watch this season. As both teams seem to get better every week, this could pan out to be a great basketball season.
