The #1 team in the SEC is coming to the Hump on Saturday, and you can’t even find a whisper of excitement on campus. Yes the bezz this week was Mississippi State opening up Baseball against Texas Tech. So why no buzz? Well the Bulldogs are on a 3 game losing streak, in which all 3 were winnable, but the mistakes ultimately cost them the game. Another thing is the College Basketball Officiating has made the game “unwatchable” in a lot of fans minds. Plus Have you not heard that the Women’s Basketball team is #3 in the Country with the most SEC Wins in School History already? It’s hard to fill up the Hump with all of this. Still Kentucky brought a huge home crowd to the game with Bulldog fans not expecting much, so it kind of surprises me that a team that defeated Kentucky by 22 points would not bring the same amount of excitement as Kentucky.

Notes
- Florida is coming off a 114 point performance in Auburn Alabama. How many points will they score at the Hump?
- While Florida is the best team in the SEC, they have had one eye rolling loss to Vanderbilt at home. So an upset isn’t impossible.
- Will Florida catch themselves looking ahead to rematches against South Carolina on Tuesday and Kentucky in Lexington next Saturday?
- Mississippi State has played well at home this SEC season minus Alabama. Will this trend continue?
- Will Q Weatherspoon find his rythm? Against Tennessee and Georgia he has not found himself on the scoreboard until late in the second half.
Prediction
As I have kind of shown in my preview, Florida is by far the best team in the SEC and there isn’t a close 2nd. Yes they did lose a close game on the road to SC, but they could have easily won that game as well. Plus they will prove it in the next week when they defeat South Carolina and Kentucky. This team will win the SEC Outright. And the Bulldogs aren’t going to stop them. I’m not sure if this is a national title contender yet. I think Kansas and North Carolina might be a tad better.
