Andy Cannizaro and the Mississippi State Bulldogs won big tonight over Indiana State. State never trailed at any point in the game and were led by Brent Rooker’s phenomenal performance at the plate.
Rooker hit a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and a grand total of 8 RBIs. A feat that hasn’t been accomplished since 2010 for Mississippi State.

In addition to Brent Rooker having a big night, Konnor Pilkington also performed well, rebounding from his rough night a week ago on the mound. Pilkington threw an impressive 8 innings, surrendering 4 hits but striking 6 out in the process.
In total, Mississippi State had 11 runs off of 12 hits, a fairly efficient performance. Though the Bulldogs struggled late again, it’s very possible that they get things sorted out down the line.
The season is young and Mississippi State is 4-2. They’ll play Marist tomorrow at 1:00 and then face off with Indiana State again after that game.
