The Baylor Bears come into the Oklahoma City Regional following their win of the Baylor Regional. The Bears easily handled Texas Southern and California in both of their NCAA Tournament Games. Baylor won the Regular Season Big 12 Title, but lost in the Big 12 Championship Game to West Virginia 77-66. The Big 12 Tournament was played in Oklahoma City so Baylor already has experience playing in Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Bears average 89 Points per Game and hold their opponents to 55 Points Per Game. They are led by Kalani Brown who averages 15.1 PPG. Alexis Jones, Nina Davis, and Alexis Prince also average in double figures.
Kim Mulkey is in her 16th season as the head coach of the Lady Bears. This is the 12th Sweet Sixteen for a program that did not make the NCAA Tournament before Mulkey arrived in 2000. She has also guided the Lady Bears to 3 Final Fours and 2 National Titles.
The Bears are going to be facing Louisville 30 Minutes after Mississippi State faces Washington. I would expect Baylor to defeat Louisville and reach the Elite Eight. We will have an expanded preview on the Elite Eight if MSU Wins on Friday. And we are going to preview the Washington Game tomorrow.
