Mississippi State hit .520 at the plate, going 13 for 25, on their way to scoring 10 runs against an outmatched Alabama State pitching staff. The Bulldogs scored all of their runs through 3 innings, jumping out to an early 10-0 lead, putting enormous pressure on Alabama State early on.
Cassady Knudsen took advantage of the huge lead and was able to prevent it from being whittled away. Through 5 innings, she struck out 10 batters and walked a pair, earning her second career no hitter in the process.
Mississippi State hosts the Bulldog Slamboree starting this afternoon, with Samford, UMass, and Central Arkansas all coming to Starkville to participate. MSU is currently riding a 9 game winning streak and hopes to see it continue this weekend. Vann Stuedeman’s squad is currently 13-3.
