Mississippi State Sweeps Ole Miss

The Bulldogs swept the Rebels in Oxford this weekend, improving upon an already great weekend for Mississippi State sports.

It’s not often that baseball gets overlooked by Mississippi State fans, but nobody would blame you if you missed this news because of trying to keep up with the women’s basketball team that is playing for a national title tonight. I mean, the support for the women’s team has been huge.

But, good things happened on the diamond for Mississippi State as well. The Bulldogs swept their second straight SEC series, taking all three games from Ole Miss in Oxford in front of some of the largest crowds in Ole Miss history.

(Ole Miss fans weren’t too happy about that, by the way)

But that’s enough about that. The Bulldogs won 2-1 yesterday, which is odd because this team has often struggled on the mound, but the pitchers did more than enough to keep up with Ole Miss’ struggles at the plate.

This comes after the Bulldogs came back to win on Thursday night after they were down 3-0 and then won on Friday in a back and forth affair.

Mississippi State is now 19-10 on the season and they’ve worked their way square into the postseason picture. Should they continue to find ways to win, which they have recently, things may not be as bleak as some fans thought early on.
