The Bulldogs keep winning despite a lack of pitching depth

Andy Cannizaro and Mississippi State have done it again. The Bulldogs have clinched yet another SEC series with the win over Alabama today. That makes it five straight SEC series that the Bulldogs have won. MSU is now 27-14 on the year while being 12-5 in SEC play.

The series winning streak goes back to the sweep of Tennessee (19-16 and 4-12 SEC on the year). It continued on into Oxford where the Bulldogs swept Ole Miss (23-14 and 7-8 SEC).

From there, MSU took two of three from a surprisingly successful Kentucky team (27-12 and 11-5 SEC), a team that is currently dominating LSU in a doubleheader of their own. The Bulldogs then went on to beat South Carolina (23-14 and 8-8 SEC) twice in Columbia.

The Bulldogs have been even more impressive at home, compiling a dominant 20-6 win-loss record in Dudy Noble Field. That’s a nice 76.9% winning percentage while playing in Starkville.

Mississippi State will look to sweep Alabama as they finish out the series tonight in the second game of a double header.
