Mississippi State (30-14, 14-5 SEC) claimed another huge win over another incredible team. With Butch Thompson bringing the 5th ranked Auburn Tigers (30-14, and 12-7 SEC) to Starkville, Andy Cannizaro is faced with one his toughest tests this season, and his team responded with a series opening win last night.

Konnor Pilkington (5-3) took the mound last night and earned another win with another great performance. In his 7 innings pitching, Pilkington struck out 4 while only surrendering a one earned run.

MSU racked up 7 hits last night against the Tigers, 6 of which came against their starter, Keegan Thompson (5-2). Thompson gave up 5 runs, all of which were earned, which brought his ERA up to 2.05 for the season.

The Bulldogs are now riding a 5 game winning streak as they get set to play two today in a doubleheader. The first game is set to start at two pm and the second game will occur shortly after the first one ends.
