The Mississippi State Bulldogs (31-17, 15-8 SEC) fought their way into tying up the series with the Texas A&M Aggies (34-14, 14-9 SEC) last night. After a crushing defeat on Thursday evening, the Bulldogs bounced back and ended a 3 game losing streak by beating the Aggies 5-1.
Denver McQuary drew the start and had a solid outing, throwing 5 innings while only surrendering 3 hits, 1 earned run, and walking 1 batter. In this time, McQuary struck out 5 of the 19 batters that he faced.
McQuary would be replaced by Cole Gordon who would go on to throw for 4 innings and strike out 4 batters on his way to earning a save, his first of the season.

The Bulldogs also performed well at the plate, racking up 5 runs off of 11 hits and 6 drawn walks. Brent Rooker, who continues to have an amazing season at the plate, was responsible for drawing a pair of the walks and then a pair of hits, both doubles.
With the win last night, the Bulldogs found their way right back into the series. The series finale is today at 1:00 pm.
