Vann Stuedeman’s team got the final series of the regular season off to a great start last night. Mississippi State (35-18, 9-13 SEC) took down #16 Kentucky (32-14, 9-10 SEC) by a score of 6-2.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on their way to victory. Taking an early 1-0 lead off of a Caroline Seitz RBI double, and then expanding that lead to be 3-0 in the 4th thanks to RBI doubles from Morgan Bell and Calyn Adams, Stuedeman’s squad remained in control of the entire game.
The Wildcats would try to mount a comeback, cutting the score to a one run game in the top of the 5th, but the Bulldogs would put the game out of reach by tacking 3 more runs on the board.
Cassady Knudsen would earn a complete game victory, throwing 7.0 and striking out 4 in the win. With the win, the junior pitcher’s record is now 9-3 on the season.
