Unveiling the First Mississippi State Twitter Bracket

We’ll be determining the best Mississippi State Twitter Accounts head to head, and you cast the vote to see who wins it all.

NCAA Basketball: Final Four Preview David Wallace-USA TODAY Sports

I love Twitter. I think it can be a great place to throw out how you feel about something and get input from people you’ve never even met.

With that in mind, I’ve been wanting to do a Twitter bracket about Mississippi State Twitter accounts for a while now. I’ve been trying to move for about six weeks, and my son has an insane golf schedule, so I haven’t been able to do much with it.

Well I had some time recently to spend some time with it, and I finally got it all worked up. So starting Monday at 7:00 a.m., you can vote for each matchup in the Mississippi State Twitter bracket.

The accounts in this bracket are not just my favorites. I got the opinion of others and we decided who we thought the best 64 accounts were regardless of follower counts, and put them in the bracket. I don’t follow all of these accounts, but I do follow most.

The only set in stone rule I followed was the account could not be a protected account. They all had to be public. I also wanted as few people directly associated with the school as possible. You’ll notice there are only a couple listed. No former players were placed in the bracket. The one exception is Matt Wyatt because of his role on Head to Head.

I seeded the bracket straight up using follower counts. I had to have some way of seeding it, so that’s what I used.

These are not necessarily Mississippi State fans, though many of them are. Some of them are neutral observers who simply tweet about Mississippi State on a regular basis because of their job. So don’t think this a certification of someone’s Mississippi State fandom. It just means they tweet enough in regards to Mississippi State I thought they needed to be in the tournament.

There are likely really good accounts that got left off. I’ll apologize in advance to those who did. I’m doing this for fun, nothing serious. So if your favorite account was left off, I’ll try to do this next year and include them then.

Without further adieu, here is your bracket. Bracket 1 will meet Bracket 4 in the Final Four. Bracket 2 will meet Bracket 3.
