College football is good and it will forever be fantastic. I love you, college football. Thank you for existing.
Let’s get to the linking and links.
Let’s Do Good Project of the Day:
Hey, so, you can still help out Hurricane Harvey victims. You can help out Hurricane Irma victims. There are many people the need some significant amounts of help. Also, be aware of who you donate to or how you help.
Find organizations that are transparent. The Red Cross has a nice name and gets notoriety, and even goobers like myself will forgetfully endorse their work. But, they’re not transparent. And some will point out the flaws with their organization. Make sure you do some research (I’m looking at myself too because I forgot to do research when asking for help for Harvey relief). From NPR: Red Cross Exec Doesn't Know What Portion Of Donations Go To Harvey Relief.
Also, hey, need a watch? Or sunglasses? Or other cool, nifty products made out of wood? Want to help feed children, free victims of sex slavery, and support orphans? Here you go, fam.
Around the Web:
Jeffery Simmons titanic music magic:
COLLEGE FOOTBALL IMPERIALISM- This is one of the coolest concepts that I’ve seen in quite a while.
Inside third-and-93: 'I know what I'm about to do -- just keep on kicking it'- You want another look, and a more in depth look at the insanity that was 3rd and 93? Well, here you go.
In Case You Missed It from For Whom the Cowbell Tolls:
T-DAWG’s Winners- T-Dawg made a few predictions for this upcoming weekend of SEC football. How’d he pan out? What’re your thoughts on his picks?
Back in Black: Mississippi State's Performance Against LSU Could Make or Break their Season- A win against LSU could help propel MSU to an incredible season. 10 wins wouldn’t be impossible should State get the right steam, but that would require an upset of LSU here. Daniel Black broke it down a bit.
I’m a talking head in a hoodie and a hat:
Mississippi State versus Georgia Game Time and Broadcast Info Announced- WE KNOW WHEN WE’RE GONNA PLAY GEORGIA. BATTLE OF THE BULLDOGS TWO POINT OH.
Louisville Cardinal Fans React to Peter Sirmon Defense- Peter Sirmon isn’t an incredible defensive coordinator. Louisville fans were still excited to get him back in the summer. Now, well, not so much. Justin Strawn collected some of their reactions and them being, well, mad.
George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, and Chris Stapleton did a concert last night to help raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. That’s super cool of them. So, I’m putting one of each of their songs right here.
To heck with just a song, here’s a mini concert via NPR’s Tiny Desk series
Well, you know, here’s another.
