A Night To Forget

Wednesday night was not the best night for Mississippi State Basketball.

Mississippi State Men’s basketball had a night to forget on the road against the Florida Gators. Overall the team looked to be out of sync especially in the second half. To add to that, Junior Forward Aric Holman fouled out of the game with around 13 minutes to go in the second half.

One good take away from this game was Redshirt Freshman Abdul Ado recorded his second double-double of his career with 12 points and 10 rebounds. In addition Quinndary Weatherspoon lead all scorers.

Ways to improve moving forward:

Creating a better inside presence in the paint. Also, being able to shoot more consistently from 3 point range. Third would be generating more attempts at the free throw line. Lastly, staying out of foul trouble and protecting the rim not allowing opponents to get easy shot attempts. All these things may sound easy but all have a pivotal role in this team competing for postseason play.

Another big opportunity coming up for the bulldogs this Saturday at home against the Auburn Tigers. This could be a chance for the bulldogs to get a big win and a resume builder in hopes of making the NCAA tournament. It will be interesting to see how this team responds with back to back losses.
