It’s time for a showdown in Tuscaloosa, as Mississippi State goes head to head with Alabama. If there’s one things we all know about these two it’s that linebacker is a strength. As it pertains to the Bulldogs’ corps, Erroll Thompson has led the way and will be heavily relied on this afternoon.

The sophomore will be making a return home, as Thompson hails from Florence, AL. He is a student of the game with a nose for the ball. Thompson is your prototypical SEC linebacker and plays with an edge, one that is unrivaled in the modern era.

With 62 total tackles, including a season high of 14 against Florida. Though it resulted in a loss, Thomson flourished. That said, he posted seven against Texas A&M. Expect Thompson to be a factor in all areas, the passing, rushing, and receiving game.

Perhaps Thompson’s most valuable asset is his leadership. He has a swagger and ability to galvanize the troops when called upon. Sure to make an immediate impact, Thompson will make Alabama’s prolific offense have to work for their yards.

It will be a dogfight and Thompson will be right in the middle of it. The key for the Bulldogs is to make this game a low scoring grind. Look for Thompson to lead the linebacking crew and be heavily relied on to shut down the Tide.
