Despite the Volleydawgs falling to Bama, Weatherspoon and State men’s basketball swept LBSU to the side.

Good morning, Stark Vegas! First of all, thank you to those who enjoyed the first edition of this. I appreciated reading people’s comments. Secondly, it’s game day. My beloved Cincinnati Bearcats are involved in College GameDay, so quick shoutout to them.

Let’s get rolling.

MBB defeats Long Beach State 79-51

Quinndary Weatherspoon had 21 points and Lamar Peters added 16. Reggie Perry grabbed 14 rebounds in Mississippi State’s win over Long Beach State. Next up is the first test of the season against Arizona State, which is on Monday. Tip-off is set for 10 p.m.

Volleyball woes continue as Alabama sweeps State

Similar to football, Alabama handled State in shutout fashion. A 3-0 loss meant the Volleydawgs are now 5-23, 1-14 SEC. They’ll try to rebound against Texas A&M on Sunday.

ESPNW No. 9 Prospect commits to MSU

Rickea Jackson, the reigning Player of the Year in the state of Michigan, has signed with Mississippi State. As a junior, she averaged 21.9 points, 4.5 assists and 10.8 rebounds. Pretty good addition to an already solid class from head coach Vic Schaefer.

Arkansas visits Mississippi State in home finale

A long season is nearing its end. In the final home game of the season, the Bulldogs host Arkansas. The Razorbacks are... not good. Sitting at 2-8, their season ended when North Texas did the non-fair catch trick that earned them a touchdown. This game is also between two teams that are reportedly in the running for Kelly Bryant. So, I guess this is the Kelly Bryant Bowl.

Onto the national stuff!

Bol Bol is very good good, Oregon handles Syracuse

Maybe Syracuse isn’t that great, or Iowa is actually pretty good. An 80-65 win for the Ducks was a statement after their loss to the Hawkeyes last night. Speaking of, Iowa blew out UConn and derailed the hype train.

Western Kentucky upsets West Virginia

Freshman Charles Bassey had 13 points and 15 rebounds in the Hilltoppers’ win over Bob Huggins’ Mountaineers. No. 25 WVU has now lost twice, both losses coming at the hands of mid-major schools (the other one being Buffalo).

Les Miles to Kansas in the final stages

ALL ABOARD THE LES TO KANSAS HYPE TRAIN! Former LSU head coach Les Miles is reportedly close to becoming Kansas’ new guy. The buyout he reached with LSU is a huge sign that he’s close to another team, but I’ve seen Colorado is in the mix for him. It’d be a very Kansas football thing if they were to miss out on Miles.

Stanford vs. Cal postponed to 12/1

This is scary stuff. Due to the wildfires, the Stanford at Cal game has been pushed back to December 1. If anyone reading this is from California, stay safe.

Daniel Tosh’s Ultimate College Sports Talk Show

Move over, ESPN. Comedy Central released a video of Daniel Tosh discussing the beauty of sports, heavily centered around his alma mater, UCF. Give it a watch, it’s pretty funny.

That’s all for today! Everybody stay safe and enjoy another beautiful Saturday. Have a good day and Hail State!
