Jerry Jeudy, a household name and fan favorite in Tuscaloosa has been nothing short of sensational all season long. Jeudy is a modern day receiver with some flash, as he can do it all. Able to play outside and in the slot, he has been a key weapon for superstar quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Jeudy is one of many forces in the Tide’s most prolific receiving corps in their long and storied history, as he has become one of its primary faces.
Having said that, Mississippi State will be Alabama’s toughest test on offense, as the Bulldogs’ defense has given up the fewest touchdowns in the country. However, this is by leaps and bounds the nation’s best group of wideouts and Mississippi State has seen nothing of the sort thus far. Moreover, Jeudy has gauged defense after defense and it will be up to the Bulldogs’ secondary to keep up with him.
Jeudy has lit up the stat line in his sophomore campaign with a whole lot more in store. Already with 39 receptions for 880 yards and 10 touchdowns, his impact has been monumental. While he may not be the most vocal, Jeudy’s passion and dedication to the game are justified in the numbers mentioned above.

The Bulldogs’ secondary has been inconsistent but has found itself as of late. Look for defensive back Jonathan Abram to key in on Jeudy early. Furthermore, expect Mississippi State to limit Jeudy to catching check downs rather than the deep ball or designed screens.
However, tackling in the open field is a must if the Bulldogs hope to stop Jeudy, as he is lethal in the open field. Mississippi State cannot afford to give up an open field tackle. Tackling has been a problem all season for the defensive backs and if there is one game where that matters most, it’s this one.
Expect Mississippi State to have addressed that issue and be prepared to contain Jeudy. While Jeudy will get his share of yards, the Bulldogs’ secondary is sure to make him earn them the hard way. Look for this matchup to be one of the season’s best and not disappoint.
Hail State!
