Predicting the 5 MVP's of this Season's MSU Football Team

Five players from Mississippi State’s football team that will make a difference in 2018

NCAA Football: Texas A&M at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

In order for every team to be successful, each team needs star players. If MSU will be a major player in the SEC this year, they must have people to step up. Here are some players that I believe will.

  1. Nick Fitzgerald

This comes as no surprise to anyone. Fitzgerald was the focal point of Mullen's offense last year, and I do not expect much to change this year. Last season he threw for 1,782 yards and 11 interceptions. His throwing ability will need to improve this season to help keep defenses honest. His legs were the key last year, but his arm could be deadly as well.

2. Jeffery Simmons

The former 5 star recruit has made his presence felt the past two years for the Bulldogs. He is a great leader for the defensive line and disrupts the timing of opposing quarterbacks with his big, physical frame.

3. Montez Sweat

This guy wasn't the SEC sack leader for nothing, and he is a force of his own. Coaches will have to decide whether they want to double team Simmons or Sweat. Both players have the ability to be huge difference makers in big games.

4. Aeris Williams

Aeris could be the most underrated person on this list. Last season he rushed for 1,107 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is a patient back that can make precise cuts upfield, or he can lower his shoulder to gain hard earned yards.

5. Mark McLaurin

This guy can be the missing piece on the back end of our defense. After his career high 3 interceptions in the bowl game, I have been really high on this guy. He has very good ball hawking skills and could help keep our secondary on the same page.

Next year's team will have a plentiful amount of talent on the roster. With great leadership, the sky is the limit for this team.
