Previewing Mississippi State Baseball’s Alabama Trip

Diamond Dawgs will face Alabama State on Wednesday before playing a a three-game series at No. 21 Auburn.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off of a big Southeastern Conference series victory over a rival Ole Miss, Mississippi State will look to keep things going in a four-game road trip that begins today vs. Alabama State.

The Diamond Dawgs (17-16, 4-8 SEC) will face Alabama State (17-13) with a 6 p.m. CT first pitch from Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Rays Double-A affiliate Montgomery Biscuits. MSU is 13-8 in non-conference contests this season.

State will then return to SEC play for a three-game series against Auburn (23-11, 4-8 SEC) Friday at Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park.

The Diamond Dawgs are coming in with a lot of momentum coming off the series with Ole Miss. They won the first game 13-3. They dropped the second game 6-1. before an exciting winner in game three off a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning by Luke Alexander to take the series.

There will be no way to view Wednesday’s game live, but fans can still follow along by listening to the Mississippi State Baseball Radio Network.
