Mississippi State Vs Southern University Baseball Preview

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off of a weekend Southeastern Conference with the LSU Tigers, the Diamond Dawgs return home today for a midweek contest with the Southern University Jaguars.

Today’s game marks the first all-time meeting between the two programs in baseball.

Mississippi State (14-15, 2-7 SEC) and Southern (8-15) will face off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Dudy Noble Field. Southern University is the third Southwestern Athletic Conference opponent that State has faced in 2018, beating Alcorn State 17-1 and Texas Southern 11-6.

The Diamond Dawgs went 1-3 against LSU with a 4-1 road win in game two on Friday.
