LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mississippi State is set to play a three-game Southeastern Conference series vs. No. 17 Kentucky this weekend at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

The Diamond Dawgs (27-22, 11-13 SEC) and Wildcats (31-17, 11-13 SEC) will begin the series today at 6 p.m. CT. The series will resume Saturday at 4 p.m. CT and conclude Sunday at 2 p.m. CT. Today’s opener will air on ESPNU, while SEC Network will televise the second and third games of the series.

There are just six games remaining in the regular season, making this series a huge one for a Dawgs team that hopes to make it into the NCAA Tournament. MSU is coming in fresh off of a midweek walk-off win over Troy. State won that game 9-8 in a 10-inning battle Wednesday night in Hoover, Ala.

Kentucky is coming in off a 7-6 midweek win over Indiana. The Wildcats dropped last weekend’s SEC series to Tennessee two games to one.

MSU holds a 61-39 advantage over Kentucky in the all-time series.
