On Tuesday, Andy Katz released his 25 seniors who could make an impact this season article. Coming in at No. 10 is Mississippi State’s very own senior guard Quinndary Weatherspoon.
Weatherspoon, who averaged a team high 14.4 points per game in his junior season, is back for one more year after nearly leaving for the NBA draft. His decision to come back bolsters State’s chances of making the NCAA tournament because of not only his skill, but his leadership on the court. Weatherspoon also led the team in minutes played.
No other senior from the SEC made the top 25 or even the “other 17 players that could be in the top 25” list. Head coach Ben Howland and the Bulldogs will hope to make their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2009.
