What to Watch For

Teaira McCowan down low

McCowan has returned to form and in a big way, as she has clearly become the best big in the nation. Her 18 point and 21 rebound performance against Georgia spoke volumes and McCowan should continue her dominance tonight. She has been a double double machine throughout her Mississippi State tenure and arguably the biggest key to the Bulldogs’ success. Look for her to have a huge night, as McCowan is averaging 16.5 points along with 13 rebounds on the year.

Chloe Bibby from three

Bibby made her name against the other Bulldogs and displayed another weapon in her arsenal, as she has become a threat from distance. She shot 4-6 against Georgia and should have her number called frequently tonight. If able to utilize her three-point game, Mississippi State should handle their business against Auburn.

Jazzmun Holmes as a facilitator

Holmes has become a reliable point guard and seems to be unfazed when called upon to take control of the offense. While she may not fill the stat line, Holmes is a spark plug and a facilitator who creates opportunities for teammates. That said, she has boosted her numbers to 7.9 points and 5.3 assists per game. Look for Holmes to make a big play late.

Prediction

Mississippi State should be in control and win comfortably 90-72
